Itchen Junior Regatta - Sun 28 Sep 2025

The Itchen Imperial Junior Regatta is a fun River Boat “sprint” regatta of approx. 450m along the return leg of the Itchen Imperial RC coastal regatta course finishing under the Itchen Bridge. We encourage young athletes to enter more than one event, but to not “row-up” too much as this impacts the program. Races are scheduled every 4-5mins, with heats run back to back in a “Winner-Stays-On” format until the event winner is found.

Each event is split into “Novice” and “Competitor” categories to allow rowers of similar abilities to have competitive racing. All event winners will receive a medal. This is also a good event for clubs to get some competitive crews together when thinking about the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta (JIRR).

Entries for Coastal boats will be accepted and separate events will be created where there are more than 2 entries in that category, otherwise, we may ask you to convert crews to River boats.

Events will not be scheduled were there is only one entry, or all entries are from the same club. We will look to combine “Novice” and “Competitor” entries into one event if there is only one entry for either Novice or Competitor.
